The Hausammann Gallery: From Italy to Wynwood

Jan 07, 2016

Hausammann Gallery has been a resident on the Wynwood neighborhood since last Spring after relocating from South Beach. But the story begins some 50 years prior, in  Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, with the great contemporary art collector Renato Hausammann. This undeniable passion for art has stood the test of time as the family’s third generation continues to grow and manage the gallery in their hometown of Cortina and the Wynwood gallery as well.

The gallery’s current exhibition “Urban Masters” displays works by some of the most innovative modern/contemporary artists such as Raptuz, Brisk, Defer, Lokiss and many more from around the world.

This particular piece by Hush was on exhibition at the X Contemporary Art Fair this past Art Basel and currently up for grabs at the gallery.

Federico Hausammann, the Wynwood gallery’s owner and director is very keen on supporting the street art community.

From selling paint brands like Loop and All City, to art prints by some of the best local and international artists, he contributes to emerging artists while inspiring young, prospective art collectors.

Federico is also part owner with a few colleagues of the Italian-made bike brand Knife.

Expansion is in the future for the Hausammann family, with prospective plans to open more galleries. Make sure to stop by their gallery this Saturday during the Art Walk, tell them the Daily Wood sent you!
